Prison Reform

Prison Reform refers to the efforts to improve the conditions, management, and fairness of the prison system. The goal of Prison Reform is to ensure that incarceration is humane, just, and effective in rehabilitating individuals and reducing recidivism. Reforms may address issues such as overcrowding, access to education and healthcare, the treatment of inmates, the use of solitary confinement, and the fairness of sentencing laws. Advocates for prison reform often seek changes that emphasize rehabilitation over punishment and address systemic inequalities that disproportionately affect marginalized communities.
