Voting Rights

Voting Rights refer to the legal entitlements and protections that allow citizens to participate in the electoral process by casting votes in elections. This includes the right to vote in local, state, and national elections, as well as the right to run for public office. Voting Rights are considered fundamental in a democratic society, ensuring that all eligible citizens have an equal voice in choosing their representatives and influencing government policies. Various laws and amendments, such as the Voting Rights Act of 1965 in the United States, have been enacted to protect these rights, particularly for historically marginalized groups.
